Posting your Top 5 to AkinsEaglesEye.com

Overview:
Now that you have created your Top 5 PlayBuzz content, it is time to add it to The Eagle's Eye website. But first, we need to run through the basics of how to post on to a Word Press website.

Directions:

Step 1:

Test to see if you can login to The Eagle's Eye website.

Use the username and password you gave us at the beginning of the school year.

Step 2:

Review the steps on how to post a story to a SNO/Word Press website.

Step 3:

Review steps on how to add an embed to SNO/Word Press.
  • Copy the embed code from PlayBuzz
  • Click on the "Text" button at the top right corner.
  • Paste the embed code into the story field
  • Click back on the "Visual" and look to see if there is a small black logo for a play button.

Step 4:

Make sure your story on SNO has the following elements:
  • Headline (Example: Top 5 Pizza Toppings)
  • Embed code
  • Featured Image (Cover/Thumbnail) Image so it will garner clicks. The image must be sized at least 1500 px wide by 1000 px tall and 144 resolution.
  • Select the correct Category (Top 5) and uncheck "Uncategorized."
  • Click "Submit for Review."

We are off to new adventures this year with some new priorities and some big changes.

If you didn't know it, you are about to join one of the best student newspaper staff's in the state and nation. Here's a list that is maintained by SNO Sites, which hosts our website.

And let's checkout that website:

But before we go to far, we should get to know each other better.

D-Ice Breakers

Let's roll the dice and answer one of the questions listed on the handout listed below:

SCAVENGER HUNT!

In groups of four or five, you will work to complete the scavenger hunt activity.

There are rules:
  1. You will have 20 minutes to complete the scavenger hunt.
  2. Students should answer the scavenger hunt questions on a separate piece of paper.
  3. Just like in sports, close doesn't cut it. So that means that all names of people must be spelled correctly or it doesn't count.
  4. Your team may send one student out to find an answer, but they must be back in 5 minutes. If they take longer than five minutes, whatever information they get cannot be used.
  5. When time runs out, all forms must be turned into Mr. Doerr before 20 minutes runs out.
HINT: There is a folder on the Web Drive labeled Scavenger Hunt. These documents could be very useful for you!
